I started 2019 with a goal in mind.
I wanted to be a champion. A champion on and off the mat. I don’t care about the money, or the fame. I care about being better every day, every workout, I want to prove myself that I can do it, to achieve the goal that seemed impossible to me not so long ago.
this past weekend I competed at the JJIF European championship, and of course, im not happy with the results. And that’s ok, because I shouldn’t be ok with that, I took a few days to think about the competition and this wasn’t my time yet. Sometime you have an amazing preparation physically and mentally and still cant get the result that you aimed for.
But after the dust is settled I found the lesson behind this, and if you struggle as well, it will help you too.
To achieve my goal I need to put my mistakes behind me. To proceed forward toward my goal I cant preoccupy myself with what happened, I need to be careful letting mistake causes another mistake.
Forgive myself and move forward. Confidently.
I won’t let a mistake or a loss end my effort, or hurt my confidence. Because successful people make more mistakes than un successful people, being successful means you go for what you want a lot. Unsuccessful people hid behind fear, excuses and past competition stories.
To quote Josh Hinger “becoming a champion isn’t easy, dust yourself off. Own your mistakes. get your head right and get back to it. There’s more work to be done.”
Thank you for everyone that supports me and helping me during this journey. And congratulation to all the national team members for their new medals I don’t care about the money, or the fame.
