If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.
What makes a champions?
is it going that extra mile? is it discipline? maybe talent? in my opinion champions are unique (everyone in his own way) but the majority of them have the same habits.
you need to be different, you can’t do what everybody else are doing, find your own way to push yourself more than others, do those extra sets, extra rounds, BE UNIQUE
It’s easy to say what you need to do to become a champion. It’s doing it that really matters.
Fear is not a reason, it’s an excuse
It’s much easier to find an excuse but remember that you always have these 2 options :
Find a way or find an excuse. Here’s 10 habits that will help you:
Wake Up Early
Most of us want to hit the snooze button and keep sleeping in our warm bed. You can call it “first battle of the day” – your body hurts from training last night, and sometime you didn’t get much sleep, but when you decided to fight the urge of staying in bed, you already won your first fight of the day. In addition to getting more time for yourself in the morning, having time to eat breakfast and maybe just enjoying some quality time with yourself.
Do what you need to do to wake up! For me personally, I keep my phone which is my alarm clock, as far as possible so I know I have to get out of bed to turn it off.
Positive Attitude
As a competitor it’s hard to stay positive. Especially if you compete a lot. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, injuries can happens, or training are not going smooth as you like.
But when you think positive you become positive. And when you stay positive even in those though times, you will become stronger
Never Late
Champions habits start with the smallest act. Get to class early! put your tape on, make your pre-workout if needed, stretch, have time and be organize. When you show up on time you show to everyone around you how important it is to you.
Helping Others
Being a champion it’s not only on the mat. A true champion is one on the mats and off the mats. Helping other, pushing your teammates for success, staying humble and having a smile. It’s all the characteristics of a champion. If you know what is right you will encourage others to do it.
Pushing Through Fatigue And Mental Berries
As a champion, you need to push through tough workouts and though times. You want to get the habit of giving up to your mind. Because your mind gets tired faster then your body, you want to push through that and get more out of your workouts. Understanding that you will not achieve perfection. But if you chase perfection you can achieve excellence. And for you to achieve that, you need to keep learning – reading, watching educational videos, Always learning and evolving analyzing fights, and get the habit to learn something from anyone
Positive Attitude For Criticism
No one I perfect. And trying to attain perfection it’s almost impossible. But if you chase perfection you can achieve excellence . understands that your team mates are here to help you. So welcome their feedback because like all of us, you need it. So it’s better if you try and learn from it.
Having Purpose
Know what you want. Know your goals! I will write about goal setting in the future but when you know your purpose you live your life through it and it will be easier for you to stay on track.
Helping Others

Getting Back Up
What’s so unique in a champion? His skills? His shape?
His mind. Its though to beat a mentally strong athlete, the one that does not give up. The one that keep getting up and never quits.
But he also understands that a loss is just a lesson and try to learn and improve afterwards
The biggest mistakes is to take sorrow in your losses. Get back up and learn from it.
Working On Their Mind
How many times your heard to phrase “ its all in your head” ?
“it’s 80 percent your mind “?
This is not a cliche . Your mindset is a tool that you need to work and develop.
Work on your mindset, once week try to simulate the feeling of a competition or get out of your comfort zone and change your habits.
(more on that in a later posts”
